A young university student, Connor Calleja, who disappeared after leaving a nightclub, has been found deceased. The 20-year-old Lincoln University student was last captured on CCTV walking near University Bridge in Lincoln early on a Sunday morning. Following a failed entry attempt at the nightclub Home, he was trying to return to his accommodation, as shared by his stepfather, John Lewis.
In a somber development, Lincolnshire Police announced the discovery of a body in the Foss bank area, close to The Brayford Pool. Although formal identification is pending, authorities believe the body belongs to Connor. A police spokesperson stated, “His family has been notified and is receiving support from trained officers. No suspicious circumstances are suspected. We urge respect for the family’s privacy during this challenging period.”
The police expressed gratitude to those who aided in publicizing the search and provided information. The University of Lincoln and Lincoln Students’ Union had pledged earlier to assist students affected by Connor’s disappearance.
