During a recent episode of ABC’s long-standing talk show, The View, guest Savannah, 28, spoke in support of Trump, citing personal experiences where she believed he had positively impacted the life of a black friend.
However, guest host Whoopi Goldberg challenged Savannah’s stance by highlighting past instances where Trump had been accused of discriminatory behavior, such as allegedly refusing to rent properties to Black tenants in the 1970s. Goldberg pointed out Trump’s negative remarks about immigrants and his questionable track record on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues, arguing that his actions did not align with supporting the Black community.
In a separate incident, a racially insensitive video depicting former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama was shared on a social media platform linked to Trump. While Savannah acknowledged the inappropriateness of the video, she maintained her position that Trump is not racist, despite backlash from social media users who criticized her defense of his actions.
The controversial video, which featured AI-generated caricatures of the Obamas dancing in a jungle setting, was promoted as evidence of election fraud in the 2020 election involving Dominion Voting Systems. The clip, posted by an account supportive of Trump, sparked outrage and renewed discussions about racial insensitivity and political manipulation on social media platforms.
