Donald Trump has announced that he has issued instructions for the disclosure of files related to extraterrestrial life currently held by the United States government. Through a statement on Trump’s Truth Social account, it was revealed that efforts would be made to share information on aliens and UFOs with the public. Trump emphasized the significance of these matters, citing the substantial public interest as the reason for making these details available.
The former US president expressed his intention to direct governmental departments to identify and release files concerning alien life, unidentified aerial phenomena, and UFOs. Trump’s decision came shortly after he criticized Barack Obama for potentially revealing classified information about aliens. Obama, in a podcast interview, had mentioned the likelihood of extraterrestrial life but clarified that there was no evidence of direct contact with aliens.
Trump refrained from offering a personal opinion on extraterrestrial visitors, acknowledging the widespread interest in the topic. Discussions around aliens and UFOs resurfaced following the leak of Navy videos showing unidentified objects in 2017. This led to congressional hearings on UFOs in 2022, where officials concluded that the objects were likely drones.
In response to the heightened interest, the Pentagon established the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office in 2022 to enhance transparency regarding UFO encounters. Despite public fascination with UFOs, investigations have mostly yielded benign explanations for reported phenomena. An unclassified report submitted to Congress in 2024 revealed that most military-reported UFO cases were attributed to mundane objects like balloons and birds, with no evidence of extraterrestrial involvement.
The ongoing efforts to investigate UFO encounters underscore the government’s commitment to addressing public curiosity while ensuring transparency regarding potential extraterrestrial activities.
