“Iran Criticizes Trump’s Mediation, Launches Missiles”

Date:

Iran has openly criticized Donald Trump’s attempts to mediate a ceasefire in the Middle East, dismissing them as self-negotiation. The strong comments were made in response to the US president’s assertion that he was engaging with the appropriate parties to end the conflict. A 15-point peace proposal has been sent to Iran by the US, a move acknowledged by Pakistani mediators involved in the dispute.

Ebrahim Zolfaqari, the chief spokesperson for Iran’s joint military command, questioned Trump’s sincerity by asking if he was essentially negotiating with himself. He emphasized the irreconcilable differences between their perspectives and stated categorically that Iran would not engage in any deal with the US, neither now nor in the future.

Following the purported receipt of the peace plan, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have reportedly launched missiles at US bases in Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, and Israel. Reports indicate that the US is pursuing a month-long ceasefire to discuss the 15-point plan, which includes provisions such as dismantling Iran’s nuclear program, discontinuing support for proxy groups like Hezbollah, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite talks of negotiations, the Pentagon is preparing to deploy over 1,000 soldiers from the US Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East, as reported by American media outlets.
