“Mother of Missing Greek Boy Suspects Human Trafficking”

Date:

The mother of a young child who went missing in a popular Greek tourist destination has shared her thoughts on what she believes might have happened to her son.

Ben Needham disappeared on July 24, 1991, while playing near a dilapidated farmhouse owned by his grandparents on the island of Kos. Despite extensive searches, the 21-month-old boy was never located, leading to various speculations, including a prevalent theory suggesting he was accidentally harmed by a construction vehicle and buried.

Kerry Needham, Ben’s mother, has consistently rejected this theory and put forward her own hypothesis, suggesting that her son might have been abducted by a human trafficking group.

During an interview with The Sun, Kerry expressed her belief that her son could have fallen victim to a criminal organization involved in illegal adoption schemes. She mentioned receiving an email from a woman claiming that her boyfriend could potentially be Ben, prompting Kerry to consider the possibility. However, she remains cautious due to the limited information available about the individual in question.

Kerry shared the details with authorities at South Yorkshire Police, who have been leading the investigation in the UK while Greek law enforcement focuses on leads within Europe. This new perspective, influenced by a conversation with a man who claimed to have been trafficked from Greece to New York, diverges significantly from the family’s initial assumptions.

Initially, Kerry and her family believed that the local community in Greece had taken care of Ben after he wandered off. They had hoped that someone had found him, provided him with assistance, considering the hot weather conditions, and that he would eventually be returned to safety.

South Yorkshire Police have announced plans to conduct DNA testing on the woman’s boyfriend following the report received from Kerry Needham. The authorities assured that they would continue to update Ben’s family on the progress of the investigation.

In a statement, South Yorkshire Police emphasized their commitment to supporting Ben’s family in their pursuit of uncovering the truth surrounding the events of July 24, 1991.
