In response to the statewide outcry, Trump’s administration is poised to make a significant change. The President announced the removal of Gregory Bovino, a senior border force official considered a provocative figure in the state, and the appointment of border czar Tom Homan. Trump commended ICE agents as “phenomenal,” emphasizing the success of their efforts.
While expressing his desire to eventually withdraw federal forces, Trump refrained from further criticizing Mr. Pretti’s character, stating his disapproval of any shootings but attributing blame to the deceased for his own demise.
