Recent weather projections indicate an impending blizzard that could blanket the entire United Kingdom in snow.
This storm is forecasted to traverse the nation on February 16, initially bringing snowfall to Northern Ireland, Wales, and the southwestern regions of England starting around 3pm.
According to the GFS weather model, cities like London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Liverpool might experience snow by approximately 6pm as the storm progresses eastward, enveloping a significant portion of England. Scotland is also likely to witness snowfall.
By midnight, the weather maps suggest heavy snowfall across all of Scotland, with Glasgow and Edinburgh expected to be heavily impacted. Further snowfall is anticipated in central and northern England during this period. The weather system is projected to move over the North Sea by 3am on February 17.
Snowfall projections for February 17 indicate the entire UK covered in purple, indicating potential snow cover across the country. The forecast also suggests significant snow accumulations, with the Scottish Highlands possibly receiving up to 54cm (21 inches) of snow.
Parts of northern England could see snow depths of up to 18cm (seven inches), while the Midlands and southern England might experience 10cm (four inches) and 8cm (three inches) respectively. Wales could also expect around 8cm of snow accumulation.

The Met Office also hints at the possibility of more snow in the UK during February. Their forecast from February 15 to March 1 suggests a persistent south-shifted jet stream directing areas of low pressure towards the UK, potentially bringing wet and windy weather, with some hill snow likely in northern regions.
