Freeview users are advised to promptly review their settings and retune their devices following the recent update rollout by the popular UK TV platform. The update introduces various changes to the channel lineup and TV guide. Freeview has highlighted the need for a retune this week as certain broadcasters are implementing adjustments that require updating channels and the TV guide to stay current.
Among the notable changes are the rebranding of three existing channels with new names, reflecting a shift in content offerings. That’s TV 3 is now known as That’s 20th Century on Channel 71, showcasing music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister, In Sickness and in Health, and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR on Channel 86, and That’s Classics MCR is now simply That’s Classics on Channel 93.
In addition to these rebrands, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, will be launched on Channel 75. While detailed program listings for this new service are not widely available yet, Freeview assures that more information will be released soon.
Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of the ongoing changes as broadcasters regularly fine-tune their offerings to ensure a diverse and up-to-date content selection. Users are encouraged to check their TV planners for these changes and perform a retune on their devices if necessary by following these steps:
1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (often 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Allow your device to automatically search for and store the updated channels.
While Freeview updates occur regularly, the current update is considered significant, prompting users to retune their devices promptly to ensure uninterrupted viewing experience.
