“Confusion Surrounds Reports of Kurdish Ground Invasion in Iran”

Date:

Kurdish forces were initially reported to have launched a ground invasion into Iran, but officials have since refuted these claims. According to sources, Iraqi Kurds allegedly initiated a ground offensive in Iran, with reports suggesting movements from the Iraq-Iran border. However, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government has denied these reports.

Recent information from various sources, including CNN, indicated that the CIA was working on arming Kurdish forces to incite a popular uprising in Iran. Amichai Stein, a Diplomatic Correspondent for Israeli broadcaster i24news, retracted his earlier statement about Kurdish fighters invading Iran and clarified that the situation was marked by contradictions and uncertainties.

Contrary to earlier reports, KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani’s Deputy Chief of Staff clarified that there have been no incursions of Iraqi Kurdish fighters into Iran. Iranian Kurdish opposition forces were anticipated to participate in a ground operation in Western Iran soon, with expectations of US and Israeli backing.

The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PAK), a Kurdish opposition force advocating for change in the Iranian regime, is active in the region, consisting of both male and female combatants. PAK’s agenda focuses on utilizing Iran’s resources for the benefit of the population rather than for the ruling clerics’ enrichment.

Reports suggest that the Trump administration has been in discussions with Iranian opposition groups and Kurdish leaders in Iraq regarding providing military support. Iranian Kurdish armed groups operate along the Iraq-Iran border, particularly in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

Sources claim that the US and Israel have been smuggling weapons to Kurdish volunteers in preparation for an armed uprising. Allegedly, airdrops of weapons were conducted in the Najaf desert, Iraq. Members of the Kurdistan Free Life Party have reportedly positioned themselves around the southern mountains of Mariwan in western Iran.

An official from the Coalition of Political Forces of Iranian Kurdistan confirmed to i24News that Kurdish forces have initiated ground military movements against Iran, leading to Iranian forces evacuating Mariwan and fortifying defensive positions. Reports from Israel suggest that Kurdish forces have engaged with Iranian counterparts in the region.

Thousands of Iraqi Kurds are said to be participating in the ground invasion, as per sources cited by Fox News.
