Iran’s New Supreme Leader Mojtaba Faces Speculation

Date:

Iran’s ex-Supreme Leader reportedly expressed concerns about his son succeeding him, as per US intelligence findings. Sources suggest Ayatollah Ali Khamenei doubted his son Mojtaba’s capabilities and suitability for leadership, labeling him as lacking intelligence.

Following the death of his father in a missile strike triggering Middle East tensions, Iranian state TV announced Mojtaba’s appointment as the new Supreme Leader. Despite lacking prior governmental roles, he now holds authority over Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and is pivotal in war strategies.

Speculation arises about Mojtaba’s well-being as he remains unseen since the conflict’s onset, fueling rumors of potential injuries or death during the initial attack. His presumed hardline views and perceived limitations raise concerns about his leadership skills amid the ongoing conflict.

Mojtaba issued a statement on the war without appearing on camera, prompting doubts about his current status. US officials and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth question his legitimacy, suggesting he may be wounded and hiding to evade potential threats.

Israeli assessments indicate Mojtaba sustained injuries at the war’s outset, likely necessitating a secure, undisclosed location to avoid targeted attacks. In contrast, Iran’s Foreign Minister asserts that the Supreme Leader is in good health and effectively managing the situation.

US intelligence further discloses Mojtaba’s past medical treatments for impotency in UK hospitals, revealing his struggles with fertility. Reports suggest he underwent multiple treatments for the issue, impacting his delayed marriage and succession concerns.
