A prominent UK airline has decided to halt all flights bound for Dubai until June due to ongoing attacks by Iran on the UAE.
British Airways (BA) announced the cancellation of flights to Amman, Bahrain, Dubai, and Tel Aviv until May 31, with flights to Doha suspended until April 30, citing the Middle East’s uncertain situation and airspace instability as reasons for the decision, according to a BA spokesperson.
Dubai International Airport claimed the title of the world’s busiest airport for international passengers in 2025, serving nearly 90 million travelers, with December 2025 setting a record with around 8.7 million passengers, as reported by The Express.
The airport offers connections to 291 destinations in 110 countries, but the UK Foreign Office advises caution regarding travel to the UAE and other Gulf states due to regional tensions. Travelers already in the UAE are urged to adhere to local authorities’ instructions, register with the UK government, and stay prepared for sudden security changes.
Despite Dubai being on the UK Foreign Office’s list of places to avoid, some travelers are still opting to visit, noted travel journalist Simon Calder on BBC Radio Scotland’s Breakfast program.
