A significant update regarding the health status of Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s new Supreme Leader, has surfaced following assertions by Donald Trump suggesting his possible demise. Speculations arose after reports circulated that Khamenei was flown to Moscow for a surgical procedure on his leg, purportedly arranged by Putin in response to injuries sustained during airstrikes. Trump recently raised doubts about Khamenei’s well-being, stating that he has not been publicly seen post-appointment and insinuating his potential demise.
Alleged leaked audio recordings indicated that Khamenei narrowly escaped death during a missile attack on his residence, potentially undergoing a coma, losing a limb, and suffering severe abdominal injuries. US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has provided an update on Khamenei’s condition, disclosing that he was severely wounded in an Israeli assault.
Khamenei, the son of the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was designated as his successor but had been conspicuously absent since his appointment. He was reportedly targeted in an attack that killed his father and narrowly avoided being struck in the assault. Leaked audio clips suggested Khamenei’s brief departure from his home during a family gathering, a move that potentially saved his life but left him gravely injured.
Reports from the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida indicated that Khamenei underwent a successful operation at one of Putin’s presidential residences in Moscow after being airlifted out of Iran. While the surgery remains unconfirmed, Al-Jarida claimed to have received information from a reliable source close to the Supreme Leader.
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth commented on Khamenei’s condition, suggesting he was wounded and possibly disfigured, implying his vulnerability and lack of authority. However, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi affirmed that Khamenei was in good health and effectively managing the situation.
Recently, Khamenei released a statement mourning the death of Iranian security official Ali Larijani, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike, emphasizing the resilience of the Islamic system against external threats. The statement conveyed determination to uphold the integrity of the Islamic regime and seek justice for the martyrs.
