“Tragedy Strikes in Uganda: Four Children Fatally Stabbed at Preschool”

Date:

Four children were tragically stabbed and killed at a preschool in Uganda, as confirmed by the police. The incident occurred at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in Kampala’s Makindye Division, where a girl and three boys lost their lives. A 34-year-old suspect is in custody, and authorities are still investigating the motive behind the brutal attack.

According to reports, the suspect gained entry to the school by posing as a parent. After briefly engaging with an administrator in an office, he proceeded to lock a gate and began assaulting the children. Upon the teachers raising an alarm, the man tried to flee but was apprehended by a security guard from a nearby church.

Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba urged anyone with information about the suspect to come forward to aid the ongoing investigation. Video footage aired by local broadcaster NTV captured distressed parents rushing to the school after the harrowing incident. Police had to intervene and disperse an agitated crowd near the school, who reportedly attempted to attack the suspect.

Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson Rachael Kawala stated that the suspect would be interrogated to determine the motive behind the attack. Initial police investigations revealed that the man had visited the school in the days leading up to the incident, attempting to enroll his child in the daycare center.

A statement from the Uganda Police Force confirmed the tragic event at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program school and assured that further details would be provided as the investigation progresses.
