“British TikTok Creator Arrested in Vietnam”

Date:

A former British criminal now known for creating content on TikTok has reportedly been arrested in Vietnam. Sam Walker, who posted various videos of himself in Vietnam leading up to his reported detention, is said to have been taken into custody on April 4.

The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is aware of Walker’s situation and is in contact with local authorities in Vietnam. The reasons behind his detention in the country remain unclear, despite Walker having a history of over 130 criminal convictions.

A video uploaded to Walker’s TikTok account allegedly shows him being apprehended by Vietnamese police officers in Hanoi. In the footage, Walker claims to have been followed by an officer before being placed in a police vehicle.

Earlier this year, Walker appeared in court in Liverpool, where a charge against him was dropped due to alleged injuries he sustained from being “stabbed and shot.” In a separate incident in 2024, Walker was reportedly detained in Sierra Leone after fleeing the UK following bail. He claimed to have traveled there to help impoverished children.

Despite Walker’s claims of charitable intentions, a friend named Samuel expressed concerns about Walker’s detainment. Samuel stated that Walker had been arrested in Sierra Leone during a peaceful protest, leading to worries about his well-being.

The FCDO confirmed they provided assistance to Walker during his time in Sierra Leone and remained in contact with local authorities.
