“Teenage Couple’s Tragic Deaths Linked to Carbon Monoxide Poisoning”

Date:

Police have issued a warning following the tragic deaths of a teenage couple believed to be caused by carbon monoxide poisoning at a holiday park. The victims, Ethan Slater, 17, and Cherish Bean, 15, both from Sheffield, were discovered deceased in their rental accommodation at Little Eden Holiday Park in Bridlington, Yorkshire. A 42-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter in connection with their deaths, with a 33-year-old man also being detained for questioning.

Chief Superintendent Matt Peach of the Northbank Divisional Command has urged the public to respect the privacy of the families of the deceased teenagers and refrain from speculation. Specialized officers are offering support to the families during this difficult period. Authorities are conducting thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deaths, which are believed to be linked to carbon monoxide exposure.

The area at Little Eden Holiday Park remains cordoned off as authorities collaborate with the Health and Safety Executive, Humberside Fire & Rescue, and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Tributes have poured in for the young couple, with a fundraising page set up for Ethan’s family receiving over £18,000 in donations within two days. The heartbreaking message on the page mourns the loss of Ethan, describing him as a kind-hearted, funny, and beloved individual whose absence has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew him.

Cherish’s mother, in a statement released through the police, expressed her devastation at the loss of her daughter, describing her as an angel and the family as shattered by the tragedy. The mother emphasized the close bond they shared and the precious memories they had created together, now forever altered by the untimely loss.
