Two women have been arrested in connection with the discovery of a deceased man in a vehicle at a car park in Helston, Cornwall. The Devon and Cornwall Police initiated an investigation following concerns raised about the man’s welfare on the early morning of December 18, 2024. The man, identified as Glen Manders, 66, from Somerset, was found deceased in the vehicle.
The two women, Dinah Manders, 88, of Weirfield Road in Exeter, and Rosemary Manders, 53, of Upton Lane in Ilminster, were taken into custody on suspicion of multiple charges, including murder, wilful neglect of a person lacking mental capacity, and obstructing a lawful burial. However, it has been confirmed by the police that the murder and wilful neglect charges will not proceed. Instead, both women have been charged with the offense of preventing a lawful and decent burial of a deceased body.
After being released on bail, the women are scheduled to appear at Truro Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 26. A spokesperson from the Devon and Cornwall Police provided details of the arrests and charges, emphasizing that the two suspects were apprehended following the discovery of the body in Helston, and that no further action will be taken on the murder and wilful neglect charges.
