Twin brothers were discovered lifeless, embracing each other, following an electric shock incident. Francesco and Giacomo Fierloni, aged 22, tragically lost their lives when they unintentionally made contact with high-voltage cables using a metal pole. It is speculated that one of the siblings perished while attempting a rescue mission.
The siblings, hailing from Magione, Italy, were engaged in training their pet birds for the upcoming hunting season when the tragedy unfolded. Reportedly, a pigeon landed on cables carrying approximately 20,000 volts, situated about 10 meters above the ground.
In an effort to coax the bird down, one of the twins utilized a carbon-fiber pole commonly used in hunting but inadvertently came into contact with the live wires, resulting in immediate fatality. His brother, in a bid to assist, met a similar fate.
Their absence and unresponsiveness prompted their father, Giorgio, to search for them when they did not return home that evening. The twins were eventually located lying together in tall grass beneath an embankment.
Emergency responders endeavored to revive the twins, who were only a month away from turning 23. The town mayor, Massimo Lagetti, who knew the twins personally, expressed deep sorrow, describing them as hardworking and kind-hearted individuals.
The parents of the twins conveyed their profound loss, stating, “Francesco and Giacomo were not just siblings but our pillars of strength, our present, and our future.” They added, “Born together, they departed together, bound by a connection that transcended mere brotherhood.”
An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
