Body Found on River Tyne Banks in Newcastle

Emergency services responded to a report of a body found on the banks of the River Tyne in the Newburn area of Newcastle on Sunday morning. The man was discovered near Grange Road and was later recovered by authorities. Police confirmed that the incident is not considered suspicious.

The scene was crowded with multiple emergency personnel and two fire engines, as well as rescue crews on a boat in the river. Northumbria Police stated that they received a report of the body around 7.55 am on Sunday and that the man’s next of kin have been notified.

Officers continued to investigate the area on Sunday and will be preparing a report for the coroner. The police spokesperson expressed condolences to the man’s family and emphasized that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
