“Trump Raises Concerns Over Iran’s Tomahawk Missiles”

Date:

President Donald Trump has raised the possibility that Iran possesses Tomahawk missiles following an incident where a cruise missile reportedly struck a girls’ school.

During a press conference in Florida, Trump mentioned that he would accept the findings of an investigation into the tragic event.

Recent footage indicates a Tomahawk missile, believed to be of US origin, hitting a compound in southern Iran near a school where over 165 individuals lost their lives at the onset of the conflict in the Middle East.

Amid increasing evidence pointing to the US military’s involvement in the February 28 strike on the school near a Revolutionary Guard base in Minab, Iran, Trump suggested that Iran also possesses Tomahawk missiles.

In response to inquiries about accountability for the incident, Trump initially stated he had not seen the details. He later mentioned that Iran, along with other nations, has access to Tomahawk missiles, emphasizing their widespread use and availability.

He expressed readiness to accept the investigation’s outcome, regardless of the findings, and reiterated the broad use of Tomahawks globally by various countries.

While the Tomahawk missile is manufactured by US defense contractor Raytheon and distributed to allies, there is no public evidence confirming its usage by Iran.

An unnamed US official familiar with internal discussions indicated that the strike was likely carried out by American forces. New video footage, initially analyzed by investigative group Bellingcat, captured the missile hitting a building near the school, causing a plume of smoke.

The video, obtained from a location adjacent to the school, aligns with satellite imagery of the compound, showing identifiable features such as a flat-roofed structure, power lines, and vehicles.

US Central Command has acknowledged the use of Tomahawk missiles in the conflict and even released a photograph of the USS Spruance, part of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier group within proximity of the school, launching a Tomahawk missile on the same day.
