“Police urged to investigate Mandelson over Epstein drug claims”

Date:

Police critics are calling for an investigation into Peter Mandelson over emails suggesting he received illegal drug supplies from Jeffrey Epstein. Newly surfaced emails show Mandelson inquiring about obtaining “triangles,” a slang term for the sedative Xanax, from Epstein. The messages also reveal arrangements for Mandelson to receive Botox injections from Epstein during visits to New York while Epstein was under house arrest for soliciting sex from a minor. Calls have been made by MPs for the police to question Mandelson regarding the email exchange.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp expressed shock over the revelations, stating that if Mandelson indeed received drugs and Botox from Epstein, it exposes the extent of his reliance on the convicted sex offender. Xanax, a controlled substance in both the UK and the US, is only legal with a prescription due to its high addiction risks. Mandelson’s emails contain references to Xanax, with Epstein providing guidance on the drug’s use.

Mandelson’s association with Epstein led to his resignation as US ambassador following the release of compromising documents in 2025. The scandal escalated into a police investigation, resulting in Mandelson’s recent arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Despite not being charged, Mandelson’s legal team aims to clear his name amidst the unfolding controversy.
