“Cocaine Use Leads to Fatal Crash, Claims Three Lives”

Date:

After crashing his Ford Puma head-on into a lorry on the A48 near Bonvilston in Wales, Scott Jeffery, 34, and his two passengers, Lawrence Howells, 51, and Barrie John, 48, tragically lost their lives. An inquest determined that Jeffery’s use of cocaine was a significant factor in the fatal accident.

During the proceedings at Pontypridd Coroner’s Court, it was revealed that Jeffery’s vehicle collided directly with an oncoming HGV on the A48. Coroner Rachel Knight ruled Jeffery’s death as a consequence of a road traffic collision, with cocaine consumption cited as a contributing cause.

Hailing from Pontypridd and residing in Brackla, Bridgend, Jeffery was unemployed at the time of the incident. Tributes to Howells from Porthcawl and John from Ferndale were shared by their families, as reported by Wales Online.

In a statement by South Wales Police, John’s family expressed deep sorrow over their loss, remembering him as a lively individual who brought laughter and mischief into their lives. They mourned his absence and cherished memories of his humor and lively spirit.

Similarly, Howells’ family requested privacy to mourn and remember Lawrence, offering condolences to other families affected by the tragic accident. The community grieves the loss of these individuals and honors their memory during this difficult time.
