A mother shares the heart-wrenching agony of losing her “perfect” and “beautiful” child and discloses the last plea that could have potentially saved her daughter’s life.
Devon Bean recounts the tragic loss of her 15-year-old daughter, Cherish, who tragically passed away alongside her teenage partner, Ethan, at a holiday park near Bridlington recently. The pair were part of a group of 24 individuals, including seven adults and 17 children, on a half-term break. Suspicions of carbon monoxide poisoning have emerged as a potential cause of the tragic incident.
Reflecting on the events leading to the devastating loss, the grieving mother revealed that the night before Cherish and Ethan’s untimely deaths in the lodge known as the ‘man cave,’ where nine youngsters had slept, Cherish had briefly returned to the main lodge after complaining of a headache.
Following the incident, four individuals have been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and released on bail pending further investigations. Expressing her profound grief on social media, the mother expressed, “Words can not describe the pain, it’s physical and mental. Our beautiful girl Cherish and Ethan are the most precious souls. If love could have saved them they would have lived forever.”
In a poignant revelation, the devastated mother shared her final conversation with her daughter and the heartbreaking hindsight of her request that could have altered the tragic outcome. Devon disclosed that she had urged Cherish to stay with her the night before, but Cherish opted to sleep in the ‘man cave,’ where she later tragically passed away.
Devon expressed deep regret over not insisting her daughter stay with her, stating, “I just wish I could have convinced her – now that I know.” She added, “If I could trade places, I would. I’d swap with them both in a heartbeat. You can’t imagine the pain of waking up and your child isn’t here anymore. My heart is broken.”
Describing the weekend getaway that ended in tragedy, Devon recalled the joyful moments shared with Cherish, Ethan, and their family, highlighting the cherished memories they had created together.
Cherish, who was on the verge of turning 16, was described as the light of her family’s life and a beloved figure to her siblings and parents. Devon emphasized the unique bond she shared with Cherish and the irreplaceable loss felt by the entire family.
The grieving mother expressed the immense pain and disbelief at the sudden loss of her daughter and the added sorrow of losing Cherish’s grandmother within a short span of time. She mourned the loss of a promising future for Cherish and Ethan, describing them as a perfect and loving couple with bright plans ahead.
