“Coach Fire on M6 Toll Delays Fans Heading to Wembley”

Date:

Dramatic video footage has captured a coach seemingly ablaze on the roadside as football enthusiasts head towards Wembley. Drivers on the M6 reported a bus engulfed in flames near Coleshill Parkway in Birmingham. The bus was en route to Wembley for the Arsenal vs. Manchester City match scheduled for 4.30 pm today. The road has reopened, and traffic is flowing smoothly, prompting the conclusion of our live coverage of the incident.

A supporter stuck on another coach behind the fire mentioned a one-and-a-half-hour delay. The burnt coach, though charred, caused no injuries. The M6 toll has reopened post the fire, with some residual traffic.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military conducted overnight strikes on a weapons production and storage facility and an Iranian military base. The IDF targeted sites utilized by security bodies linked to the Iranian regime for weapon production and storage, including facilities used by Iran’s defense ministry and the Revolutionary Guard’s air force.

The M6 Toll remains closed southbound between T3 and T2 due to the earlier coach fire. A recovery operation is ongoing, causing delays for motorists caught in the closure. Efforts are being made to reopen the carriageway soon.

A witness described the coach catching fire, starting with smoke at the toll station and escalating until the engine burst into flames. The fire brigade intervened, and everyone is safe, en route to Wembley.

Another image shared online depicts extensive traffic on the M6 as emergency services combat the coach fire. The coach, transporting Manchester City fans, was fully engulfed but has now been extinguished, with all passengers safely evacuated.

As fans anticipate the Manchester City vs. Arsenal match, delays are expected due to the M6 toll closure. National Highways West Midlands notes the closure between T4 and T2, advising motorists to anticipate delays.

Fans express frustration over the M6 traffic, hoping for a delayed kick-off to accommodate those stuck. Ridleys Coaches confirmed the safe evacuation of all passengers from the incident.

The chaotic scene on the M6 toll continues, with motorway users reporting standstill traffic and emergency services still present. The road closures are affecting travel to Wembley for the anticipated match this afternoon.
