“London Underground Sex Offender Jailed: Defiant Criminal Sentenced”

Date:

A man who sexually assaulted four women on the London Underground and harassed a fifth victim was defiant as he received his jail sentence. Craig Anderson, 38, committed the attacks at various underground stations in London and Surrey last year by targeting women traveling alone, engaging them in conversation, asking for their phone numbers, and then inappropriately touching them before fleeing in amusement.

One victim reported feeling haunted after Anderson stuck his tongue out at her when she confronted him. Anderson had met this woman on a train in June, obtained her phone number, and proceeded to harass her with messages from multiple phone numbers. He even sent her an unsolicited explicit photo against her wishes, followed her to work, and behaved aggressively towards her.

In separate incidents between June and October, Anderson carried out similar sexual assaults on different victims, displaying a pattern of predatory behavior. This behavior led to his arrest in October 2025, where he made derogatory remarks to the police. Anderson, who had a history of criminal offenses, was convicted of stalking and sexual assaults after a trial earlier this year.

During sentencing, the judge highlighted Anderson’s disturbing criminal record, including numerous convictions and breaches of restraining orders. Despite Anderson’s denial of the charges and appeal intentions, the judge emphasized the severity of his actions and sentenced him to 22 months in prison. The judge also noted Anderson’s distorted beliefs about relationships with women and the high risk of reoffending.

British Transport Police commended the victims for their bravery in supporting the investigation and urged anyone experiencing or witnessing sexual offenses on public transport to report them promptly for justice. The police emphasized the importance of reporting such incidents to ensure the safety of all passengers.
