Renowned photographer Chris Jackson, known for his work alongside Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, recently shared insights into his experiences with the royal couple. Jackson, the official royal photographer for Getty Images, has captured moments of the duo both during their royal duties and post their move to the US.
Having accompanied the couple on various global ventures, including trips to Lesotho and Bali with Prince Harry, as well as documenting the Invictus Games for injured military personnel, Jackson described his encounters with the Sussexes as positive. He expressed admiration for the Invictus Games, labeling it a remarkable achievement, and highlighted the couple’s excellent rapport and collaborative spirit.
During an event in New York to launch his book “Modern Majesty,” featuring a collection of royal family images, Jackson mentioned snapping iconic behind-the-scenes photos, such as one from the Buckingham Palace balcony on the King’s Coronation Day. Notably, he also captured family portraits, including Prince Harry and Meghan, and the Prince and Princess of Wales with their children for the King’s 70th birthday.
Reflecting on the royal family, Jackson emphasized that he enjoys photographing the diverse characters within the monarchy. He acknowledged the significance and power of photographs, noting that the royals focus on the impact of their public image rather than vanity. He attributed a portion of his success to serendipity, with many of his book’s images capturing unexpected and candid moments.
