Prince Andrew faced an FBI investigation for allegedly seeking young women for sexual encounters during a trip. The FBI looked into his connections with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein’s associate, while he was on a royal visit to Peru in 2002. Emails exchanged between Maxwell and an individual referred to as “Individual-5” were utilized by the FBI in a 2020 court application to access devices seized from Epstein’s residence in 2019.
In one email, Individual-5 inquired if Maxwell had found new inappropriate companions. This correspondence mirrored a previous email from Balmoral requesting “inappropriate friends” signed off as “A.” An FBI agent suggested that Individual-5 was asking Maxwell to find young females for sexual activities.
Further emails revealed discussions about arranging for young women, with one indicating that the responsibility was left to Maxwell and another individual. The FBI agent interpreted this as Maxwell’s efforts to arrange for females to engage in sexual acts with Individual-5.
Correspondence from “The Invisible Man,” believed to be Prince Andrew, expressed gratitude for generous offers and deferred decisions about women to Maxwell and Juan Estoban. Despite requests from US authorities to testify regarding his ties to Epstein and Maxwell, Prince Andrew has not traveled to the US in years. Democrats in the US Congress urged him to cooperate with their investigation into Epstein’s associates, citing documented allegations and his association with Epstein.
The committee sought Andrew’s participation in a transcribed interview to shed light on Epstein’s criminal operations, but he did not respond. Prince Andrew has consistently denied any involvement in illegal activities.
