In the photograph, Mandelson is seen wearing white pants and a black t-shirt, interacting with a woman. He stated that he had no memory of the context or individuals in the picture, casting doubt on its authenticity.
The woman, whose identity was concealed in the released photo, indicated that Jeffrey Epstein likely took the photo himself. Describing herself as a former Russian model, she placed the photo’s timeline around 2010, at Epstein’s residence where the picture was taken in what she referred to as “the library.”
She mentioned that Mandelson may have been receiving a massage during the photo, as a masseuse from Lithuania frequented the premises. The woman criticized the photograph as distasteful, emphasizing Mandelson’s unpleasing demeanor and lack of emotional impact it evoked.
Having been a part of Epstein’s inner circle for years, the woman asserted that Epstein had complete control over her life, including her stay at his New York City townhouse. She also claimed to have encountered Andrew Mountbatten Windsor during his visit to Epstein’s residence in December 2010.
Mandelson faced consequences for his association with Epstein, being dismissed as the US ambassador and resigning from the House of Lords. In response to the image’s release, Mandelson expressed uncertainty about the circumstances and regret over his connection with Epstein.
Mandelson acknowledged being deceived by Epstein and expressed remorse for believing his falsehoods and maintaining their association. He admitted to the mistake of continuing contact after Epstein’s conviction. The 72-year-old was arrested on suspicion of public office misconduct recently.
The woman alleged that Mandelson exhibited arrogance towards women in Epstein’s residences, portraying him as a freeloader who moved between yachts and other Epstein properties. Requests for comments from Peter Mandelson’s representatives have been made by the Mirror.
