“Additional Arrests Made in Woolwich Shooting Case”

Police have reported additional arrests in connection with a fatal shooting in Woolwich that resulted in the death of 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor. The Metropolitan Police initiated an investigation following a shooting incident on Lord Warwick Street at approximately 3:40 pm on Thursday. Eghosa was found with severe injuries and unfortunately passed away at the scene. Subsequently, two individuals were apprehended in Woolwich on suspicion of murder on Saturday. The detained suspects include a 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man, and a 46-year-old man arrested for allegedly aiding an offender.

Earlier, two boys aged 14 and 16, along with an 18-year-old man, were taken into custody on Friday and have been released on bail as the investigation progresses. Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card, leading the investigative team, stated that ongoing efforts are being made to uncover the circumstances surrounding Eghosa’s tragic death. Residents of Woolwich may have observed heightened police activity as three more individuals were arrested in connection with the case.

The police acknowledge the community’s concerns regarding Eghosa’s demise and assure continued support for his family.
