Kira Cousins, the woman involved in a fake baby scam, has spoken out about her experience, describing it as a tumultuous journey. She acknowledged seeking assistance during the scandal that unfolded in October.
The 22-year-old from Airdrie, Scotland, was exposed for deceiving her close circle by pretending to have given birth to a baby girl named Bonnie-Leigh Joyce. She had used a lifelike Reborn doll disguised as her newborn, which was eventually discovered by her mother.
Following the revelation, the supermarket employee shared a TikTok video addressing the deception and explaining the delay in sharing her side of the story.
In her own words, she expressed her hesitation in recording the video multiple times, fearing judgment and scrutiny from others. She emphasized that regardless of her future actions, people will always have opinions. She also expressed gratitude for the support she has received post-scandal.
Acknowledging the various reactions to her situation, Kira emphasized that she values her life and will continue living it despite public perception. She mentioned receiving messages of encouragement following the scandal, including a moment where her ex-boyfriend believed he was a father before learning the truth.
Expressing gratitude for the support she received, Kira mentioned feeling relieved by the positive messages she received upon resuming public appearances. She thanked her friends and family for their unwavering support throughout the rollercoaster journey she has been through.
Kira, who had previously shared videos featuring alcohol, addressed the controversy with humor after being called out by another TikToker. She acknowledged the challenge and hinted at a forthcoming conversation to address the issue.
During her deception, Kira posted various content depicting her pregnancy journey, including baby scans, gender reveal parties, and alleged health complications with the baby. She documented fake pregnancy-related events and even shared AI-generated clips of the baby’s movements in her womb. The lifelike dolls she used can mimic real baby behaviors and are available at different price points.
Recently, Kira publicly apologized to her ex-partner and those she misled, announcing her withdrawal from a planned documentary about the fake baby scandal. She had signed a deal with production companies to turn her story into a documentary but decided against it.
In a separate development, Kira was found promoting the sale of her dachshund’s puppies on her Instagram story. She shared details of the available puppies, including photos and videos, with a request for genuine inquiries only.
The puppies, born to her dachshund Roxie, are set to be available starting the week of 25 May. Kira had announced Roxie’s pregnancy earlier, following a previous litter of puppies born last year.
