A despicable sexual offender who cruelly abused four young girls had concealed his twisted fantasies for many years until his true nature was exposed. Colin Walker, a retired security guard from Wirral, Merseyside, admitted to two counts of sexual assault on a child under 13 and inducing a child to engage in sexual activity. Additionally, he was found guilty of 12 charges of sexual assault on a child under 13, four counts of assault by penetration, and two counts of indecent assault by a jury.
The courageous victims of this predator played a crucial role in bringing him to justice. Liverpool Crown Court heard how Walker, residing in Tranmere, Wirral, had preyed on his young victims from the age of five, engaging in inappropriate touching over a span of 25 years. Statements from the victims, including one mother describing the drastic impact on her daughter, were read out during the proceedings.
Walker was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with an additional year on licence, by Judge Simon Medland KC. The judge commended the young girls for their bravery in coming forward and emphasized that every individual has the right to live free from such despicable acts. Despite Walker’s denial and deceit, the jury found his victims’ accounts to be truthful.
As a first-time offender, Walker will serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before being eligible for release. He has also been issued with a permanent sexual harm prevention order, indefinite restraining orders, and is mandated to register as a sex offender for life.
