Several individuals have been confirmed as casualties following a tragic collision involving an ambulance and a lorry in Essex. The incident occurred at the junction of the A13 and A130 at Bowers Gifford. Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and an air ambulance, swiftly responded to the scene where multiple individuals received treatment. Four of the injured were subsequently transported to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital.
A significant emergency response comprising six ambulances, two paramedic cars, and an East Anglian Air Ambulance was mobilized following reports of the ambulance being part of a crash with one or more vehicles, according to a spokesperson from the East of England Ambulance Service. Five patients were assessed at the scene, with four requiring transportation to the hospital by road ambulance.
Collision investigation officers were observed at the site, and drivers were advised to anticipate delays as a result of the incident.
