Date:

The mother of a student who was fatally stabbed on Primrose Hill expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of her son, describing him as her “prince of light” and emphasizing her desire for positivity in the wake of his tragic death.

Finbar Sullivan, aged 21, lost his life in a stabbing incident during an altercation at the scenic London location on April 7. A large gathering of over 1,000 people convened at Primrose Hill to honor the memory of the young film student. The vigil included a moving performance of ‘It Must Be Love’ by Madness frontman Graham “Suggs” McPherson, accompanied by the release of balloons in tribute to Finbar.

Leah Seresin, Finbar’s mother, shared touching words about her son, highlighting how he had left a lasting impact on everyone he met with his kindness and charm.

According to Finbar’s father, Chris Sullivan, the young student had visited Primrose Hill to test out a new camera he had received as a birthday gift. Despite efforts from paramedics, Finbar tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

In an emotional tribute to her son reported by the BBC, Seresin described Finbar as a vibrant and compassionate individual, beloved by all who knew him. She expressed the overwhelming grief she experiences every morning when the reality of her son’s absence sets in.

The vigil held in honor of Finbar drew a significant crowd, including notable figures such as Paul Weller, Kevin Rowland, Bobby Gillespie, and Glen Matlock. Attendees paid their respects with candles, flowers, and moments of reflection in memory of the young student.

Chris Sullivan viewed the vigil as a powerful demonstration of love prevailing over hate and a stand against the scourge of knife crime. He shared that Finbar had aspired to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, renowned cameraman Michael Seresin, known for his work on films like “Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban” and “Rambo III”.

Legal action has been taken against three individuals, Ernest Boateng, Alexis Bidace, and Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, who have been charged with Finbar’s murder. Additionally, Khalid Abdulqadir faces charges related to the same incident, including causing grievous bodily harm, violent disorder, and possession of a weapon.
