“Duke & Duchess of Cambridge Introduce New Family Pet Otto”

Date:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have unveiled a never-before-seen image of their new family pet and disclosed its name for the first time. William and Kate shared a photo on social media featuring their new spaniel, Otto, who is turning one year old. The photo, taken by Kate, showcases Otto, the offspring of their other spaniel, Orla, who had a litter of puppies last May. This adorable canine duo also appeared in a social media post for William’s 43rd birthday last June.

Recently, the royal couple shared a vacation snapshot lying in the sunlit grass to commemorate their 15th wedding anniversary. The image, captured in Cornwall by photographer Matt Porteous, features William, Kate, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, including Orla and Otto.

William and Kate adopted their elder dog, Orla, in 2020 after the unexpected passing of their first shared dog, Lupo. The family revealed earlier this year that they kept one of Orla’s puppies, mentioning it during a visit to a textiles factory in Wales.

Orla has been a constant companion at various events with the family, including a polo match and a casual outing with Hollywood actor Eugene Levy. Otto’s birthday coincides with a series of personal celebrations for the royal family, including Prince Louis’ eighth birthday and the couple’s 15th wedding anniversary.

Additionally, the Duke and Duchess will celebrate Princess Charlotte’s 11th birthday tomorrow. Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, born in 2015, carries names in honor of Queen Elizabeth II and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.
