An easyJet flight heading to Scotland had to change course due to an alleged passenger assault during the journey. The flight, originally bound for Glasgow from Tenerife, was rerouted to Porto, Portugal, where authorities awaited its arrival on Wednesday, April 29th. The disruption caused by unruly passengers led to the diversion of flight EZY3114.
Following the incident, reports suggest that one passenger was a victim of the assault. The aircraft eventually continued its trip to Glasgow, as per the Daily Record.
According to an easyJet spokesperson, “Flight EZY3114 from Tenerife South to Glasgow on April 29th diverted to Porto, where police intervened due to disruptive passenger behavior. The flight then proceeded to Glasgow.”
The spokesperson emphasized easyJet’s commitment to passenger and crew safety, stating, “Our crew are trained to handle various situations promptly to ensure the safety of everyone on board is maintained. The safety and well-being of our passengers and crew is our top priority. Any instances of abusive or threatening behavior are taken seriously and are not tolerated onboard.”
