“Scottish Clothing Manufacturer Goes Into Liquidation”

Date:

A well-established clothing manufacturer in the UK has gone into liquidation after more than four decades in operation, leaving its remaining employees without jobs. North East Rig Out (Aberdeen) Limited, a Scottish clothing company, specialized in producing workwear, school uniforms, and customized protective clothing for various industries such as oil and gas, engineering, construction, transport, and retail. The Aberdeen-based company has permanently closed down, resulting in eight workers being laid off. Insolvency experts MHA have been appointed as liquidators after a decision was made to wind up the company voluntarily. The official documents filed under the Insolvency Act 1986 stated that the firm could no longer sustain operations due to its financial obligations. The company’s downfall was attributed to the ongoing challenges in Scotland’s energy sector, which have imposed significant financial pressures on businesses in the North-east region. According to Michael Reid from MHA, who is overseeing the liquidation process, the prolonged downturn in the energy sector had a detrimental impact on the company and other businesses in the area. The company, also known as NERO, emphasized its expertise in producing a wide range of workwear, including standard and custom-made garments like personalized PPE and coveralls tailored for industrial clients. Offering embroidery, heatseal branding, and laser logo services, the company catered to corporate clients, schools, and sports clubs. Its product line targeted industries such as oil and gas, construction, automotive, aviation, shipping, military, and public sector organizations.
