“Teenage Suspects in San Diego Shooting Found Dead Near Islamic Center”

Date:

Two teenagers suspected of perpetrating the tragic San Diego shooting were discovered near the Islamic Center of San Diego with a gasoline can adorned with Nazi symbols and a vehicle covered in hateful graffiti. Cain Clark, aged 17, and Caleb Vasquez, aged 18, were found deceased close to the center where three individuals were fatally shot on Monday morning. The suspects allegedly targeted worshippers outside the building around 11:40 am local time before being found in a nearby car with self-inflicted gunshot wounds.

An investigation by the San Diego Police Department revealed a gas canister featuring the emblem of the SS, anti-Islamic markings, and weapons etched with hate speech at the scene. While images show the distinctive logo on the red canister, authorities have not disclosed the motives behind the attack. San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl acknowledged the presence of “hate rhetoric” associated with the incident but refrained from providing further details.

Despite finding a note in the vehicle without any specific threats towards the mosque or any other target, investigators have expanded their inquiries to a local high school attended by one of the suspects and a shopping mall linked to the car used in the crime. The shooting unfolded after law enforcement received a report of a juvenile runaway who had left home with a car and firearms.

Prior to the shooting at the Islamic center, police were already searching for the two suspects and arrived at the scene to discover three victims with gunshot wounds. One victim, identified as Amin Abdullah, a security guard at the center, played a crucial role in minimizing the impact of the attack. Chief Wahl commended the guard’s actions as heroic, emphasizing that lives were saved as a result. Details regarding the other victims remain undisclosed.

The teenage suspects were later found dead in a vehicle several blocks away from the mosque, with reports identifying Clark as a notable wrestler. The discovery followed reports of shots fired from a vehicle at a landscaper nearby. For the latest news updates, consider selecting Daily Mirror as a ‘Preferred Source’ on Google News.
