A man from the UK passed away, and his teenage son sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Corfu today.
The British tourist, 42 years old, was operating a quad bike on the Greek island with his 15-year-old son as a passenger when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into an olive grove, according to local media reports.
The incident occurred around 2 pm local time on the central rural road of Roda-Acharavi near Almyros. Authorities, including the police and Fire Department, quickly responded to the scene and extricated the driver from the wreckage.
He was promptly transported by emergency responders to the regional medical office of Acharavi and then to the Hospital of Corfu, where medical staff worked to stabilize him.
The teenager was also taken to the Hospital of Corfu via ambulance, accompanied by a physician from the Acharavi office, as reported by Hellas Journal.
Roda and Acharavi are two small coastal towns situated on the northern coast of Corfu, approximately 35 km away from Corfu Town. These neighboring towns, located just 3.5 km apart, together create a continuous holiday destination along a vast sandy beach.
Almyros, found at the northern tip of the sandy coastline, houses holiday villas as well as the Almyros Beach Resort and SPA.
