“Universal Kids Resort Set to Open in Frisco”

Date:

Universal is preparing to launch its expansive new theme park later this year, featuring seven distinct areas inspired by popular franchises such as Shrek, Jurassic World, SpongeBob SquarePants, and the Minions.

The Universal Kids Resort is scheduled to debut in Frisco, Texas, this summer, with an official opening date set for July 1, 2026. This new establishment marks the company’s first kid-centric theme park, catering primarily to families with young children while offering attractions that adults can also enjoy.

The upcoming theme park will be segmented into seven themed zones, including DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom, and Illumination’s Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club. Additionally, the park will introduce DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots Del Mar, and the Isle of Curiosity showcasing DreamWorks’ Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Moreover, Universal will unveil the Universal Kids Resort Hotel alongside the theme park, featuring 300 rooms, dining options, an outdoor pool, and various family-friendly amenities, although specific details are currently undisclosed.

Interested guests can now secure tickets and accommodation packages at universalkidsresort.com. For travelers from the UK, convenient access is available through Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) with direct flights provided by British Airways and Finnair from London Heathrow. Skyscanner reports fares starting at £393 in July for those eager to be among the first visitors to explore the new theme park.

In addition to its forthcoming venture in Texas, Universal is also in the process of establishing a theme park in the UK. The park, slated to be situated at a former brickworks location, is expected to create around 8,000 jobs upon completion and contribute significantly to the UK economy.

Last year, the UK government granted approval for the theme park’s development in Kempston Hardwick, Bedfordshire. Universal confirmed that the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) had greenlit the project, marking a significant milestone for the company.

Universal has expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming theme park, emphasizing its unique offerings that could include some of the tallest rides in Europe, with height restrictions potentially reaching up to 115m.
