A United Airlines flight had to perform an emergency landing following an incident involving a disruptive passenger who allegedly attempted to breach the cockpit. The flight, United UA2005, was en route from Chicago to Minneapolis when it was redirected to Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin.
Reports from airline officials indicated that a passenger on board was causing a disturbance, with some individuals on social media mentioning that the individual was speaking loudly in Russian and engaged in a mid-flight altercation. Eyewitnesses also claimed that there was an attempted breach of the cockpit.
United Airlines released a statement confirming that the aircraft landed safely to address the security issue posed by the unruly passenger. The statement read, “United flight 2005 from Chicago to Minneapolis landed safely in Madison, Wisconsin to address a security concern with an unruly passenger. The flight is expected to resume its journey to Minneapolis later on Friday.”
The Boeing 737 aircraft had 147 passengers and six crew members on board, and fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
