Alton Towers unveiled its new Bluey ride earlier this year, and I had the privilege of being among the first visitors to experience the thrilling rollercoaster in CBeebies Land.
Titled “Bluey the Ride: Here Comes the Grannies,” this attraction is inspired by the characters Janet and Rita, the granny alter-egos of Bluey and Bingo. Drawing in fans from around the world, it has quickly become one of the standout features of the park.
In addition to the new ride, the Bluey family is a regular presence at the park, with daily performances that include the whole family, providing young fans with the opportunity to dance along to popular tunes like Dance Mode and the catchy theme song.
Before boarding the ride, it’s essential to check the height requirements, as there were many anxious visitors ensuring they met the criteria. With a minimum height of 0.9m and an adult accompanying those between 0.9m and 1.1m, safety is a top priority.
Despite long wait times on the opening day, the clever design of Alton Towers has made the queue experience more enjoyable for families. Play areas and photo opportunities featuring Bluey and Bingo entertain guests while they wait for their turn on the ride.
Having personally witnessed the excitement of children on the Bluey ride, I can attest that the experience is well worth the wait, even if it stretches to over 100 minutes. Contrary to initial impressions, the ride offers surprising heights, thrilling turns, and a double track experience that adds to the excitement.
Following the ride, it became evident that Bluey the Ride sets a new standard for children’s rollercoasters, offering a level of excitement that even adults can appreciate.
