Downing Street has criticized JD Vance for attempting to meddle in UK democracy and incite discord in our communities by involving himself in the controversy surrounding Henry Nowak’s murder.
The US Vice President attributed Mr. Nowak’s death to immigration, suggesting it symbolized the decline of British civilization.
Alleging that the police showed negligence towards Mr. Nowak, whose killing has been exploited as a cultural battleground by right-wing figures, he claimed they lacked trust and concern for him.
Responding to these assertions, a spokesperson from Downing Street stated, “Recently, there have been attempts to disrupt our democracy and sow discord in our neighborhoods. The Nowak family is mourning the tragic loss of Henry. They have expressed their desire not to have his death used to propagate further division, animosity, or tension. It is important to honor their wishes. Our political climate should unite people even in the most dire circumstances. That is the essence of our country.”
After Digwa claimed he was a victim of a racially motivated assault, violent protests erupted. Meanwhile, Mr. Nowak, handcuffed by the police, pleaded for help as he struggled to breathe in his final moments.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has been accused of instigating unrest against the wishes of Mr. Nowak’s family by calling for a response of “rage” to the tragedy.
Mr. Vance has consistently criticized the UK, asserting that a decline in conscience rights has endangered the fundamental liberties of religious Britons.
He also implied that the UK is a predominantly Islamist nation, a characterization that Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner later refuted, as he decried what he viewed as infringements on free speech in Britain.
The US State Department recently accused Britain of practicing “two-tier policing” and “ideological conditioning,” which it labeled as symptoms of societal decay.
Today, Mr. Vance reiterated his critique, emphasizing that Henry Nowak’s demise mirrored the decline of a civilization, abandoned and restrained by uncaring authorities, falsely accused of hate crimes.
Echoing Farage’s contentious language, he proclaimed, “The appropriate response – the only response – is righteous anger.”
Mr. Vance concluded with a message of mourning and a plea for divine solace for those who cared for Henry Nowak, emphasizing the need to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
A spokesperson from Downing Street later clarified that a thorough review of Mr. Nowak’s case was underway, acknowledging the substantial public concern it has raised.
However, she dismissed any insinuation of differential policing practices across the United Kingdom, emphasizing the country’s commitment to impartial law enforcement.
When questioned about the UK’s relationship with the US, she affirmed its enduring strength.
