Police are currently searching for a man connected to a shooting incident that occurred three months ago, advising the public to avoid approaching him as they consider him to be ‘armed and dangerous’. This development coincides with another individual being charged in relation to the death of a police officer during a raid in Toronto, Canada.
The wanted individual, Zara Jabbi, aged 19, is being sought for his involvement in a shooting at the US Consulate back in March. Authorities have issued a warning stating that he should be considered armed and dangerous. Officers emphasized the importance of not approaching him and instead contacting 911 immediately if spotted, circulating his photo to aid in his apprehension.
Prior to the commencement of the FIFA World Cup fixture in Toronto, where fans from around the world have gathered in Canada, Mexico, and the US, Jabbi remains at large. The city is set to host its first World Cup match on June 12, featuring Canada against Bosnia and Herzegovina at Toronto Stadium.
Following the tragic loss of Constable Marc Pinizzotto, officers expressed their gratitude to the public. Pinizzotto was fatally injured while on duty on June 11, during a high-risk search warrant execution as part of a coordinated operation involving five simultaneous warrants. A suspect, who was also shot by the police during the operation, is currently hospitalized.
Nicholas Bennett, aged 19, from Toronto, is facing a First Degree Murder charge in connection with the death of Constable Pinizzotto. Meanwhile, Jabbi remains on the run as confirmed by authorities, sought in connection with the March incident at the US Consulate.
