During a visit to Norfolk Blood Bikes, located near their Anmer Hall residence, William expressed his fondness for bikes and the thrill of riding them.
While William prefers to ride quietly and incognito, Kate has openly expressed her concerns about his motorcycle passion, admitting that it fills her with dread. Despite Kate’s worries, William remains enthusiastic about biking and even mentioned that he still rides occasionally in disguise.
During his visit, William commended the bikers for their essential role in the community, emphasizing the vital link they provide for transporting medical supplies. He praised their dedication and described them as amazing for their contributions.
Although riding a motorcycle is known for its exhilarating nature, Kate has been vocal about her apprehensions regarding William’s involvement in such a dangerous activity, especially with their young children. She once shared how anxious it made her feel when William rode his motorbike, expressing hope to keep their son George away from it.
Acknowledging Kate’s concerns and prioritizing his family’s well-being, William has scaled back his motorcycle ventures. Despite toning down his biking activities, William couldn’t resist the temptation to test drive a Triumph motorbike during a tour in Hinckley, describing the experience as enjoyable but too short.
Having obtained his motorcycle license at the age of 19, William has a long history with bikes, including embarking on charity adventures with his brother Harry. The royal siblings once undertook a daring off-road course in South Africa, raising a significant amount for charity.
William is not the only member of the Royal Family to face skepticism over motorcycle riding, with King Charles reportedly expressing concerns about his sons’ safety on the road. Despite the reservations, William continues to appreciate the thrill of biking while being mindful of his responsibilities as a father.
