“Ukraine Launches Bold Drone Strikes on Russian Targets”

Date:

Ukraine has carried out a significant cross-border offensive into Russia, targeting Moscow’s largest oil refinery and key military sites. The drone strikes, launched early in the morning, are expected to disrupt Russian President Vladimir Putin’s energy sector and impact the supply chain in the Russian capital.

The attack coincided with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump at the G7 Summit in France to discuss potential peace negotiations. President Zelensky praised the operation in Moscow’s Kapotnya district as a retaliation against previous attacks on Ukrainian civilians, emphasizing the need for Russia to cease hostilities.

Following the assault on Moscow’s energy infrastructure, Russian authorities imposed restrictions on petrol purchases, limiting the amount of fuel drivers could buy and requiring cash payments only. The oil refinery in Moscow plays a crucial role in supplying nearly half of the city’s daily oil consumption, with some of the resources diverted for military purposes in Ukraine.

In addition to the refinery, an oil facility in Krasnodar, southern Russia, was also targeted in an attempt to undermine President Putin’s authority amid growing dissatisfaction. Ukrainian forces struck Russian troops stationed in observation centers and command posts across the country, demonstrating their strategic capabilities.

Simultaneously, Ukrainian drone squads attacked Kremlin military positions in Donetsk, targeting key installations and supply depots. Ukrainian troops also engaged Russian forces in the Ivanovo region of Bryansk, intensifying pressure on Putin’s military operations in Ukraine.

This operation follows recent incidents such as British commandos intercepting a Russian oil ship in the Channel, further complicating the geopolitical landscape. As international pressure mounts to resolve the ongoing conflict, the latest offensive by Ukraine poses a significant challenge to Putin’s ongoing military campaign.
