Snooker Star Kyren Wilson Withdraws After Burglary

Date:

Kyren Wilson, a renowned snooker player, faced a distressing incident as his residence was burgled while he competed in the Championship League Snooker event. Unaware of the break-in, Wilson managed to secure a 3-0 victory over Haydon Pinhey at the Mattioli Arena before discovering the unfortunate incident.

Upon learning of the burglary, Wilson decided to withdraw from the tournament. The former snooker world champion revealed that valuable items, including luxury watches, jewelry, and cash earmarked for charity, were stolen during the break-in.

In a statement shared on his Instagram account, Wilson detailed the burglary timeline and listed the stolen items, which held significant sentimental and monetary value. Among the stolen possessions were a Cartier watch, an Audemars Piguet watch, a ladies’ Rolex with a pink dial, and a precious blue sapphire necklace commemorating his 10th wedding anniversary.

Expressing his distress over the incident, Wilson emphasized the emotional attachment to the stolen items rather than their monetary worth. He urged anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation and recovery process.

Following his withdrawal from the competition, Pinhey, Dylan Emery, and Michal Szubarczyk were awarded walkovers. Wilson’s next competitive appearance is scheduled for the Shanghai Masters starting on July 27.

In a separate development, Wilson is set to participate in a charity event in October supporting the BeMoreFab charity. The exhibition, organized by TWSportsManagement’s Taylor Wilson, will feature snooker players like Stuart Bingham, Joe O’Connor, and Louis Heathcote, with all proceeds dedicated to the children’s cancer charity.

Sky has recently enhanced its Ultimate TV and Sky Sports bundle, now offering additional streaming services like HBO Max, Netflix, Disney+, discovery+, and Hayu. The package includes 135 channels and comprehensive coverage of the Premier League, EFL, Formula 1, darts, and golf, with over 1,400 live matches broadcasted annually.
