Emma Raducanu Withdraws from Wimbledon Due to Stress Fracture

Date:

Emma Raducanu has made the tough decision to withdraw from Wimbledon this year due to a stress fracture, despite her initial hopes of competing. The British No 1 shared the news on Sunday, just before the tournament was set to begin. In an Instagram post, Raducanu expressed her disappointment, explaining that her leg injury had worsened into a stress fracture following a final scan. She acknowledged the support from her fans and the difficulty of missing out on playing in front of a home crowd.

Raducanu, who was seeded 30th, was supposed to play against Antonia Ruzic in her Wimbledon opener. This setback comes after a recent strong performance at Queen’s Club, where she reached the final but was defeated by Donna Vekic. Despite the preparation at Queen’s Club, Raducanu will now have to skip the prestigious Grand Slam event. Wimbledon 2026 tickets are already available for purchase, including VIP access.
