“Major Explosion on Hume Highway Causes Pile-Up”

Date:

A major explosion resulted from a collision involving two lorries on the Hume Highway in Australia, near Breadalbane in New South Wales. The incident led to a seven lorry pile-up, leaving one driver missing and six individuals injured. The collision occurred shortly after 5 am on Tuesday, June 30.

The two initial lorries that collided then crashed into five other vehicles at a rest stop, causing a significant explosion. The combination of cargo in the lorries created ideal conditions for a massive blast and subsequent fire. According to a NSW Fire and Rescue spokesperson, one truck was carrying eight tonnes of butane cans, while another contained resin, a third had memory foam, and a fourth was loaded with alcohol, contributing to the fire and subsequent explosions.

This story is still developing, and more updates are expected.
