“UK Investigators Travel to US for Andrew’s Case”

Date:

Investigators looking into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are set to journey to the United States soon to speak with Virginia Giuffre’s relatives, as per reports.

The Times newspaper states that detectives from Thames Valley Police (TVP) will meet with Sky and Amanda Roberts, siblings of Ms. Giuffre. In May, it was revealed that the investigation into Andrew includes potential sexual misconduct allegations in connection with possible public office misconduct.

The legal scope of the offense encompasses various behaviors, such as sharing confidential financial data, financial impropriety, dereliction of duty, and sexual wrongdoing. It also encompasses corrupt practices, improper intervention, conflicts of interest, obstructing justice, dishonesty, fraudulent actions, and misconduct for personal benefit.

TVP detectives are concerned that the public may perceive the focus solely on accusations of Andrew sharing information during his time as a trade envoy, but the investigation actually covers a wider range of legal violations.

Andrew held the position of the UK’s special representative for international trade and investment from 2001 to 2011, resigning amidst controversy stemming from his association with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Although he did not receive a salary for promoting British business interests globally, criticisms were directed at the substantial annual expenses and travel fees incurred.

In the same year he resigned, a photo emerged showing Andrew with his arm around Virginia Giuffre, who alleges she was trafficked to him at the residence of convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. Andrew settled a civil lawsuit in the US with Ms. Giuffre, whom he claims never to have met, for a significant sum in 2022.

The former prince has consistently denied any misconduct related to his ties with Epstein.

Andrew was arrested on suspicion of public office misconduct on February 19, questioned under caution, and subsequently released pending further investigation. Searches were also conducted at his former residences in Windsor and Norfolk.

Investigators are actively reviewing the evidence recovered during the operation.

A spokesperson for TVP stated, “Our investigation into public office misconduct is ongoing. While we cannot disclose specific details, we are following all credible leads.”
