President Donald Trump has vowed to take harsher action against Iran, issuing a new warning of unleashing severe consequences on the nation.
In the latest announcement from The White House on Sunday evening, March 29, it was asserted that Iran has already suffered defeat and any further violence would be a result of its failure to acknowledge this fact.
A statement emphasized Trump’s unwavering stance, stating, “President Trump is prepared to bring about severe consequences.”
The recent communication from the US comes amidst heightened activity in the Middle East’s airspace, with numerous drones and missiles in the region.
On Sunday, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates all reported intercepting drone attacks.
The White House reiterated, “There is no need for more death and destruction. However, if Iran persists in denying their military defeat and reality, President Trump will ensure they face unprecedented consequences.”
“Iran must not misjudge the situation again. Their previous miscalculations led to significant losses, including senior leadership, navy, air force, and air defense systems,” as reported by the Express.
“The Iranian regime’s refusal to accept their defeat and engage in negotiations may lead to further violence,” the statement added.
Earlier in the week, Trump presented a 15-point peace plan to Iran, which was rejected by the nation.
Pakistan has expressed readiness to facilitate meaningful discussions to end the conflict with Iran, with the foreign minister stating that Pakistan is willing to host talks between the two sides in the near future.
However, there has been no confirmation regarding the participation of Iran or the US in peace negotiations.
Ishaq Dar made these statements following meetings in Islamabad involving foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt.
