UK Couple Critical After Spain Wildfires; Fundraiser Started

Date:

A couple from the UK is in critical condition after being caught in the wildfires in Spain, sustaining severe injuries. Simon Batchelor and Lisa Fryett, residents of Canvey in Essex, were near the badly affected villages of Bédar and Los Gallardos when the fire started.

Following the blaze, the pair suffered serious injuries and were rescued from a mountainside the next day. Simon and Lisa, desperate to see their children again, are currently in a critical state in a Spanish hospital, with their three children now present by their side.

To assist with emergency expenses, a fundraiser has been initiated, raising over £46,000. The family’s plea for assistance highlights the tragic events that unfolded in Spain, emphasizing the couple’s critical condition and their heartfelt desire to reunite with their children.

As the couple receives crucial medical care, the fundraiser aims to alleviate the financial strain on the family, allowing them to focus on supporting Simon and Lisa during this challenging period. Every donation, regardless of size, is appreciated, and sharing the fundraiser is encouraged.

The family expressed gratitude towards the Spanish community and local individuals for their exceptional compassion and support during this crisis. They also extended appreciation to the emergency services, particularly the Guardia Civil officers, for their bravery and dedication in reuniting Simon and Lisa with their children.
